Free candy kisses at Bancroft State Bank

 

February 3rd. Back by popular demand, Woodlands Church presents Family Comedy Night with Taylor Mason 7 pm.  Take your family out for the night to enjoy this comedian, ventriloquist entertainer and musician.  Sure to be a hit with kids.  715- 424-0800
February 8th The Ridges Golf Course & Supper Club, 2311 Griffith Avenue, Wisconsin Rapids 2nd annual Sportsman's Banquet. All Proceeds from this event will go to benefit the South Wood County Youth Hockey Association. Social Hour: 5:00 pm Dinner: 6:00 pm

April 13-15th Central Wisconsin Prairie Chicken Festival 4:30am April 13 - 5pm April 15. Get close to nature and observe wildlife for 3 days/nights of immersion in the Prairie Chicken Festival/Grasslands Lore. Observe unique courtship dances and resonant booms and feel the joys of the grasslands coming alive at dawn. Enjoy breakfast in the great outdoors, learn about research techniques while protecting the grasslands. Learn their history and tour the areas to experience them first hand. There are a wide variety of events for all ages at 6 locations in 4 different WI counties. Wristbands are $3.00 and provide access to all venues. June 16-17th. 23rd Annual Strawberry Fest Model Railroad Show 10 am to 4:30 pm. Now in two gyms! Featuring ten operating model railroad layouts (some as large as 24' x 52'), including a model train layout in a hearse, and one built of Legos. Kids will also enjoy a hands-on Thomas the Tank Engine and Chuggington Station layout, a train ride with Engineer Ted, and hands-on switching with Conductor Carlson. There are also swap/sales tables, hobby shop dealers, vendors and demonstrations. Visit the model contest on Saturday. Free. Waupaca Recreation Center, 407 School St, Waupaca

July 14th Bancroft State Bank 100 year picnic 4-7 pm @ Bancroft Lions Park, Bancroft. Free food to all customers, music, face painting, free gifts to those present. Contact Jill at 715-335-4545 to set up a booth for fundraising.

 August 31st-September 2nd RumbleFest Open until 11 pm each day. RumbleFest is a Traditional Hot Rod and Custom car show featuring pre-'65 vehicles. Three big days. Fri/Sat/Sun12 bands, on two stages, playing rockabilly, 60's surf and honky tonk music until 11PM each night. Other events include 125' mini-bike drags, vintage stock car expo on the 1/3 mile dirt track, Hot Rod "Hot Laps" where you can take a lap around the track in your show car, ladies' roller derby demos and dunk tank, hot rod parts swap meet, camping, commercial vendors, and more.
